Job Advert Summary:
Support the safe and efficient operation of the Clinker and Milling Plants through field monitoring, equipment operation, plant inspections, problem reporting, and adherence to housekeeping and safety standards. Operate a range of mobile and fixed plant equipment while assisting Plant Operators in maintaining optimal production performance.

Minimum Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION Certificate in process, production, chemistry or equivalent EXPERIENCE Understanding of the production working environment and shlft work Exposure to cement plant environment SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Microsoft Office - Basic Industrial Control Software (SCADA) Performance Management System Achiever System Certificate of competence in mobile equipment & plant operations

Duties and Responsibilities:
Production control - Assist Operator with completion of shift log, accurately and comprehensively completed, including: Target / Actual / Variance (including down time and outstanding work orders) as well as proper action planning during the shift in order to achieve production Operate Slag Dryer during slag drying and adjust conveyor routes during milling. Conduct Inspections of rail stock. Conduct housekeeping as required and during periods of low demand. Production review - Assist with tha gathering relevant production data, and preparation for start of shift production INVOCOM. Participate in Short Interval Control with operator & supervisor. Process Optimisation - Perform trouble shooting in the entire plant. Conduct preliminary diagnostic during process upsets. Liaise with Operator on resolution of mechanical, electrical and operationd issues. Action instructions during efficiency and productivity improvement Plant and equipment - Conduct pre-start checks on plant and equipment before Conduct ongoing and systematic 1st line equipment surveillance and condition monitoring. Conduct portable kiin shell scanning as and when directed. Refine brick castab Ie areas in Kiln as and when directed. Clear chokes and othef plant interruptions. Material Handling and processing - Operate Mobile Equipment as required (FEL; Bobcat; Forklift Telecon Tractor, Loco etc.). Operate all plant equipment from field .Maintain coal feed bin level. Direct operations during bulk offloading. Direct truck drivers during hand offloading. Coordinate hand offloading, as well as bottom and side discharge of bulk raw materials. Position wagons far offloading. Assist with wagon cleaning after offloading. Action instructions given by Supervisor ard Operator. Locomotive Operation - When directed, operate the locomotive in a safe manner, adhering to the requirements of the Rail Regulator as well as PPC Codes of Practice, and to meet the site standards in terms of outputs and quality. Inspect wagons condition and report to Supervisor. Shunting Operation - When instructed: Direct the movement of the Loco to correctly position wagons for Material loading (and off-loading), ensuring at all time that tracks are free from obstructions and and stationary wagons have hand brakes on. Quality management - Escalate quality issues or potential issues that my affect product Governanc e - Comply with departmental Joint Audit Protocols. Comply with PPC Operating Best Practices Risk Management -Comply with safety ,health and environmental procedures and standards.Assist with investigations of incident & accidents and implement required corrective action.Escalate Non-conformances to supervisor.
