- The candidate must be highly motivated and enthusiastic in order to contribute positively to the Department of O&G.
- Good leadership skills, excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, conflict resolution and good interpersonal skills are important.
- The successful candidate must be adaptable, disciplined, and self-confident.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and under pressure. The ability to initiate and conduct research will be an advantage. Ultrasound experience will be an advantage.
Duties
- As a fellow, the candidate will be responsible for clinical management of patients with obstetric and gynaecological problems and subspecialist responsibilities (diagnosing fetal anomalies, managing maternal medical complications, performing specialized fetal procedures (e.g., amniocentesis, cerclage), and providing prenatal, antenatal and postnatal genetic counseling and care optimization)
- Daily ward round with registrars, medical officers, and interns
- Afterhours and weekend calls for general Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Supervising registrars in clinics and the wards
- Attending various combined multidisciplinary meetings (MDT)
- M&M and Academic meeting participation
- Teaching undergraduate (GEMP) students (bedside teaching and other tutorials) and involvement in student assessments.
- Administration duties as determined by the Department/ hospital.
- Participate in all divisional, departmental and faculty meetings to facilitate effective teaching and research as well as to enhance continuing professional development.
- Maintain quality assurance standards and other departmental policies. Participate in maternal and fetal medicine research.
