Field Facilitators

Job Description

Assist in project coordination between farmers, extension and BioSSA researchers with the assigned cluster. Assist with layout, planting and management of the trails. Collect plant and soil data from established trials. Keep proper records of demonstration plots and the recorded data. Submit weekly report on the demonstration trials to BioSSA scientists. Arrange field visits to the demonstration trials as directed by BioSSA project Coordinator. Train farmers in proper handling and application of effective bio-input products. Any other duties that may be assigned by project management.

Requirements

• The candidate should have a Diploma in Agriculture with specialization on crops research and management.
• Relevant work experience in agricultural research of at least 3 years.
• Good understanding of the maize and beans cropping system in Tanzania.
• Ability to work with and maintain a good relationship with famers.
• A good Knowledge of farming systems in Siha District.
• Be a good team player and highly self-motivated.
