Job Description

The Digital Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of world-class digital marketing strategies aimed at accelerating brand growth, customer engagement, and commercial performance. The role is responsible for driving integrated digital campaigns across social media, search, digital advertising, websites, and emerging digital platforms. The successful candidate will leverage data, analytics, and consumer insights to optimize performance, return on investment, and customer experience. The Digital Marketing Manager will also champion innovation, digital excellence, and content effectiveness while ensuring alignment with business objectives, brand positioning, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing NBC’s online marketing efforts to drive brand awareness, campaign awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth. The role involves overseeing digital campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, digital media, search engines, and the NBC website. The position also requires the use of data and analytics to ensure campaign effectiveness and return on investment. The successful candidate will ensure effective use of digital platforms while aligning all activities with regulatory requirements, brand strategy, customer needs, and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Marketing Strategy

  • Developing and implementing digital marketing strategies.
  • Promoting NBC products and services through digital channels.
  • Ensuring alignment with compliance requirements, brand guidelines, and customer needs.
  • Managing social media, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and paid advertising.
  • Creating and optimizing content across digital platforms.
  • Using analytics tools to monitor performance daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Generating and sharing reports, insights, and recommendations.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Staying up to date with digital trends and technologies.
  • Monitoring competitors’ digital strategies.
  • Driving lead generation, customer acquisition, and conversion.
  • Managing social and digital media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities.

Strategy and Management

  • Developing and executing comprehensive digital marketing strategies for NBC products and services.
  • Supporting NBC brand, social, and national-related activities through digital marketing.
  • Planning, managing, and reporting on digital campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Managing campaigns across social media, digital media, email, search engines, display ads, mobile platforms, and the NBC website.

Content and Communication

  • Overseeing the development of creative content for digital channels.
  • Tailoring content to target audiences such as individuals, SMEs, farmers, youth, and other customer groups.
  • Ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, brand standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Creating, curating, and managing all published content, including images, video, written content, and audio or podcast content.
  • Monitoring, listening, and responding to users in a social and engaging way.
  • Cultivating leads, sales opportunities, and high levels of engagement.
  • Conducting online advocacy and opening streams for cross-promotions.
  • Developing and expanding community and influencer outreach efforts.
  • Overseeing design work for digital assets, including social media graphics, Facebook cover images, profile pictures, thumbnails, advertisements, landing pages, Twitter/X profiles, blog graphics and related assets.
  • Designing, creating, and managing promotions and social advertising campaigns.
  • Ensuring social ad campaigns are integrated with the company’s overall marketing and brand campaign plans and channels.

Channel Management

  • Managing and growing NBC’s presence on social media platforms, websites, mobile apps, and digital banking portals.
  • Collaborating with digital product and IT teams to improve customer journeys and user experience.
  • Creating and managing an online review funnel to build reviews and strengthen reputation.
  • Monitoring online reviews and responding to each review in a timely and careful manner.
  • Acting as an advocate for the company in social media spaces.
  • Engaging in online dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Demonstrating the ability to map out a comprehensive marketing plan.
  • Driving strategies proven through testing and metrics.
  • Developing organizational elements to implement a proactive process for capturing positive online reviews from happy and loyal customers.
  • Monitoring trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy.
  • Implementing ongoing learning to remain highly effective.
  • Identifying threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company.
  • Attending selected events for live streaming and timely posts on NBC social media platforms and YouTube channel.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Working closely with product managers, sales teams, agency partners, and compliance teams.
  • Aligning campaigns with business priorities.
  • Leading internal training or briefing sessions on digital best practices and tools.
  • Working with various teams to update content on the NBC website.
  • Adding new micro pages or links to the NBC website.
  • Working diligently with NBC partners and influencers to expand the bank’s visibility on their social and digital media platforms.
  • Supervising and guiding video shooting or photography to ensure the output fits social and digital media requirements.
  • Guiding, recruiting, and managing influencers and ambassadors to promote NBC content.
  • Ensuring influencers and ambassadors promote NBC content in a way that maintains a positive brand reputation.
  • Advising where there is a threat of jeopardizing brand reputation.

NBC Website, Apps, Microsites, and Portal Utilization

  • Driving maximum utilization of the NBC website, microsites, and portals.
  • Ensuring content is updated on time within the agreed turnaround time.
  • Growing the number of visitors according to annual targets.
  • Driving business lead collection from social media and digital media channels.
  • Ensuring leads are collected according to the set target for each campaign.

Innovation and Industry Trends

  • Staying up to date with digital trends, tools, and competitors’ strategies in the financial services sector.
  • Proposing innovative campaigns and tools to enhance digital engagement.
  • Supporting financial inclusion through digital marketing innovation.

Performance Monitoring and Analytics

  • Using tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and campaign dashboards to track KPIs.
  • Monitoring KPIs such as reach, engagement, conversion, and ROI.
  • Providing insights and recommendations to optimize performance and budget allocation.
  • Using data to develop appropriate social and digital media campaigns, directions, and engagement strategies.
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with analysis and recommendations.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and recommending how to improve them.
  • Reporting notable threats to appropriate management.
  • Monitoring effective benchmarks and best practices for measuring the impact of social media campaigns.
  • Analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on campaign effectiveness to maximize results.
  • Analyzing key metrics and adjusting strategy as needed.
  • Compiling management reports showing campaign results and ROI.
  • Analyzing campaigns and translating anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans.
  • Revising social media, digital media, content marketing, SEO, and social advertising campaigns based on insights.
  • Conducting gap analysis and implementing action updates for the NBC website, microsites, and portals.

Risk and Control Objective

  • Acting as crisis coordinator in the event of major issues during execution.
  • Allocating tasks to crisis teams when necessary.
  • Ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are complied with before implementing any activity.
  • Clearly understanding contract or MOU terms, conditions, and obligations when working with influencers, partners, or external parties.
  • Ensuring each party’s obligations are understood before task implementation.
  • Adhering to the bank’s policies and procedures applicable to the department and NBC Bank.
  • Demonstrating sound judgment and responsible risk management.

Role Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in the principles of traditional and digital marketing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing, Information Technology, or any other related degree.
  • Creativity and documented immersion in social and digital media.
  • Proficiency in content creation applications.
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Ability to move between the creative side and analytical side of marketing.
  • Ability to demonstrate why ideas are analytically sound.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in managing social and digital media.
  • Knowledge in communications is an added advantage.
