Job Description

Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: The consultant will review, refine, and finalize the Training Manuals on Labour Laws for Domestic Workers in Tanzania and training Manual on Dispute Resolution for Domestic Workers to ensure technical accuracy, alignment with national laws and international labour standards (including ILO Conventions C189, C190, C183, and Recommendation No. 204), and accessibility to a broad audience.

Key Tasks

• Conduct a desk review of relevant national labour laws, policies, and international frameworks to ensure manuals are fully aligned.
• Technically review and refine the content of the manuals for clarity, structure, consistency, and accuracy.
• Technically review and refine the content of the manuals for clarity, structure, consistency, and accuracy, ensuring inclusion of gender considerations and responsiveness to the needs of all domestic workers. Translate manuals into Swahili, ensuring clear and culturally appropriate language for domestic workers (wafanyakazi wa nyumbani).
• Incorporate feedback from the ILO and other relevant stakeholders and finalize English and Swahili versions of both manuals.
• Ensure the manuals are ready for ILO endorsement, branding, and publication, and that they are user-friendly and accessible for a wide range of audiences, including domestic workers and trainers.

Requirements

The work requires strong legal and technical expertise in labour laws, dispute resolution, gender equality, and experience in developing training materials for diverse audiences.
